Meet The Mastermind

William Doughty

Founder · Walking Taco Evangelist · Dad of Seven

William Doughty holding a zombie bust at Walkers🧟 The Boss Walker

It dawned on him one day. Like Dawn of the Dead.

William grew up loving two things that probably shouldn't go together: The Walking Dead and walking tacos. So he smashed them into one undead empire on Main Street.

After moving his family to Branson, William knew he wanted to build something different — something his family could be a part of, something this town hadn't seen before. A zombie-themed walking taco joint? Branson's gimmicky in all the best ways. It fit.

Walkers opened its doors in March 2025 — and the brains, er, beef hasn't stopped flowing since.

The Family Behind The Bite

Walkers isn't a one-man show. William's wife Jamie and five of their seven kids work the shop alongside him. (The two oldest are grown and living in Kansas City — they get a pass.) Every walking taco that crosses the counter has a Doughty fingerprint on it somewhere.

When the city tore up Main Street for construction during their first tourist season, William didn't go quiet — he went on the news to fight for the downtown businesses. When a TikToker rolled in with a shoebox for a charity drive, William matched it with $100 of his own. That's the operation. Family-built. Community-minded. Apocalypse-themed.

The Philosophy

"You can choose your size, you can choose your chip. You can pretty much customize every detail of your taco. We just make up really cool names for them."— William Doughty

Three signature touches make Walkers Walkers: their proprietary Walker Sauce drizzled on every taco, the lineup of menu monsters (Crawler, Walker, Juggernaut, Chipocalypse), and the chaos — Mutation Station, BYOC madness, weekly Chipocalypse challenges streamed live on TikTok.

It's gimmicky. It's Branson. It's exactly the point.
